These spats have been the victim of a manufacturing error! They are greatly reduced due to small cuts in the fabric on the edge. Please see images below. These are only available in White.
Spats were worn over shoes from late C19th to the early 1920’s.
The main purpose was to protect the upper part of the shoes from spattering with mud. The name therefore derives from ‘spatterdash’ .
These are made in the best quality heavyweight pure wool melton so do not curl irritatingly at the toe.
They are exact replicas of originals and have leather straps with nickel buckles.
At present we have only one size which fits a large shoe from British size 9-11.
