Recognising how difficult it is to have Edwardian boiled front dress shirts properly starched we have now developed a machine washable version.
These have proved very popular with our overseas customers as well as with touring wardrobe departments. Hailed as a modern miracle in certain quarters where the starch bucket has finally been put away. The bib front is entirely convincing although not quite as stiff as our formally starched shirts. This can of course be quite an advantage in terms of comfort.
The bib is approximately 16in long and is designed to close with 3 dress studs which are available separately. There is a tie loop at the back of the neck to prevent the bow tie riding up. These are a traditional fit which means they are properly capacious.
Single cuffs with buttonholes for cuff links and optional cuff button. Curved shirt tails. Can be worn with any of our separate collars
Machine washable at 40 degrees but do not use steam, additional starch or fabric conditioner. Do not dry clean
If ordering a separate collar, do keep in mind it is usual to add ½in to the neckband collar size so a 15.5in shirt would need a 16in collar.
Approximate Measurements: Finished length from collar to hem 36in. Sleeve length 36in centre back to cuff. 14in - 20.5in neck
100% white cotton
