White Tie Evening Wear (GRWT2020)

White Tie is shorthand for this look which is worn at the most formal occasions such as very grand balls or anything at Buckingham Palace. Evening tail coats are conventionally worn with White Tie along with white marcella waistcoats and black evening trousers with a double stripe.

This was the standard evening wear until around 1920 when Black Tie was deemed acceptable for more relaxed nights at home.
