These cotton petticoats are cut according to an original pattern with gored pieces so they give a generous hem width without adding bulk on the hips.
They come in three sizes but can be used for almost any size as they are fastened with a drawstring. The front panel is fixed at the waist but the remainder is loose so can be gathered onto the draw cord.
For best results move all the fullness to the back as this will provide a small bustle for the recognisably S shape of Edwardian womenswear.
While these petticoats are strictly speaking Edwardian, they can of course be used throughout the C19th.
Hem length is 38in including the frill.
They can be shortened by making decorative tucks above the frill.
